Abstract:

The Sensitivity of Quantitative electroencephalogram (Brain mapping) was Compared with Transient ischemic Attack (TIA) and computerized tomography (C.T. Scan) Finding. Twenty Patients were tested with Quantitative EEG (Brain mapping) within 24h from the onset of neurological symptoms where as CT Scan was performed within 24h from the onset of attack. EEG was recorded from 16 electrodes placed upon the Scale to the international 10-20 system. Spectral analysis was carried out for each channel. Absolute and Relative power were calculated for Delta - Theta -Alpha and Beta frequency bands and such data were successively represented in color coded maps. The results indicated that EEG mapping showed focal abnormality in delta band in 17 of 20 cases.

Abstract:

mapping forest types is essential for sustainable management, however, field methods are time-consuming and costly. Therefore, Modern remote sensing, especially hyperspectral imagery like PRISMA with 243 spectral bands, is valuable for mapping Hyrcanian mixed forests. However, its accuracy and capabilities must be assessed. In this study, the capability of PRISMA data was assessed using SVM, SAM, and RF classification approaches to create forest type maps for the Gorazbon district of Kheyrud Forest. A ground truth map consisting of 131 field sample plots, each measuring 45 × 45 m, was generated using Kuchler's abundance method based on the 100 trees with the largest diameters. Five forest types were identified: pure beech, mixed-beech, beech-hornbeam, hornbeam-beech, and mixed hornbeam. Geometric correction, smoothing and noise filtering was applied, then, Illumination correction was performed. Anomalies were detected using the RX algorithm. The minimum noise fraction (MNF) transformation and pixel purity index (PPI) were applied to the remaining 103 spectral bands and then used in the classification process. Additionally, indices such as NDVI, ReNDVI, MTCI, NDIred, and RTVI were incorporated into the classification process. The results showed that the SVM and RF algorithms achieved overall accuracies of 53.09% and 43.19%, with kappa coefficients of 0.38 and 0.25, respectively. The best combination of input data was derived from the spectral bands obtained through the MNF transformation. Based on the findings, high noise in PRISMA imagery and the similar spectral behavior of forest types in this region hindered the species discrimination and classification performance.

Background and objectives: The area and intensity of forest fires is strongly dependent upon the type of fuels and its spatial variability across the Landscape. It is very important to develop accurate ways to assess fuel characteristics and predict the probability of fires occurring in heterogeneous landscapes for fire prevention and management. The objectives of this research were to build local scale fuel type map and simulate their fire behavior.Materials and methods: The spatial extent of the different fuel types of Toshi forest in Siahkal characterized by heterogeneous vegetation and topography was determined using a field survey. Four different fuel types (grass, grass-shrub, natural forest and plantation) were analyzed. The fuel types were developed by field sampling and the collected data was inserted in the FARSITE simulator to modeling potential wildfire spread and behavior. Results: The simulation results revealed that the fuel type for the shrublands and natural forests demonstrated the longest flame length, the highest fireline intensity and the greatest heat release per unit area. The fuel type for the grass fields presented the fastest surface rate of spread; and the fuel type for the plantation the lower fire intensity. Conclusion: The fire behavior maps are an end product which can be fully exploited operationally from local fire management authorities without further processing for an effective wildfire management and proactive emergency response.

Abstract:

Paratuberculosis caused byMycobacterium avium subsp. paratuberculosis (Map) is a progressive, chronic and noncurable granulomatous enteritis. Paratuberculosis affects ruminants worldwide. The earliest reports on paratuberculosis in Iran date back to 1960’s when the disease was diagnosed in imported animals of the Abadan Oil Company’s farm. In the work presented here 13 field MAP isolates including 4 ovine and 3 caprine isolates from Isfahan, 6 bovine isolates from Zanjan and Alborz provinces plus 2 vaccinal strains of 316F and III & V were subjected to PCR-IS900, PCR-F57 for identification and also PCR-Collins for typing. In consequence, while an identical PCR protocol was successfully developed to simultaneously perform all the three experiments, the 15 tested bacteria were all shown to be MAP type II (cattle type). In epidemiological sense, when the size of national goat, sheep and cattle herds of Iran is taken into account, circulation of MAP type II is intriguing.

Abstract:

Introduction: Maps can create a deeper insight of our surrounding environment. The map can also be used in curriculum for its reforming, and developing and ultimately improving teaching-learning process. This systematic review aimed to identify applications and benefits of curriculum mapping. Methods: Seven search engine and websites were searched using the keywords including curriculum mapping, curriculum map (s), medical, curriculum development and planning.1100 article was found and 179 articles were enrolled in the study. Then the relevant article (i.e.36 articles) were selected and analyzed. Results: 112 advantage and 111 applications were found in reviewed articles.32 advantage and 29 applications were listed after removing repetitive cases and merging some cases. The most common mentioned advantage was developing a participation culture (students and teachers participation in curriculum). Most applications of these maps were curriculum monitoring and evaluation from different perspective regarding to the required competencies for students. Conclusion: Various users including curriculum planners, administrators, professors and students use curriculum mapping according to their needs. Regarding the benefits of curriculum mapping and its various applications in the educational system, it is suggested that teachers and administrators in each department, design a curriculum map in a project. In this regard, computer programmers can increase accuracy and speed in the project.

Abstract:

The present paper investigated the effectiveness of concept mapping as a learning strategy on EFL students’ self-regulation (metacognitive self-regulation, time and study environment, effort regulation, peer learning, and help seeking). Sixty university students participated in the study. They were randomly assigned to control and experimental groups, each including thirty students. They were at the intermediate level of English proficiency and studying English either Translation or Literature. Their language proficiency was determined by the Michigan Test of English Language Proficiency (MTELP) (Corrigan, 1979). The instrument to collect data on the students’ selfregulation was the Motivated Strategies for Learning Questionnaire (MSLQ) (Printrich et al., 1991). The findings revealed that students gained higher self-regulation in writing tasks as the result of the explicit instruction of the concept mapping strategy. The findings have implications for pedagogy as well as for research.

Abstract:

In this paper, based on the results and theorems of C^*-algebra valued S_b-metric spaces, we solve one type of matrix operator equations in L(H) defined by X-∑ _(n=1)^∞ ▒ 〖 A_n^* XA_n=Q〗 , in which H is a Hilbert space and L(H) is the set of linear and bounded operators on H. Also, we prove that the Kannan contraction mapping has a unique fixed point in C^*-algebra valued S_b-metric spaces. Furthermore, we prove that the Chatterjea-type contraction mapping has a unique fixed point in C^*-algebra valued S_b-metric spaces. Finally, by using the Banach contraction principle in C^*-algebra valued S_b-metric spaces that has previously been studied by the authors of this article and by using the results of the above theorems, we solve the above matrix operator equation in C^*-algebra valued S_b-metric spaces. As well as, we show that this matrix operator equation has a unique solution in L(H), and this solution is a Hermitian operator.

Abstract:

In this paper, we define rational type Geraghty tower contraction mapping and prove the existence of such finite and infinite rational Geraghty tower theorem(s) in complete metric spaces. The results we establish in this paper extend, improve, generalise and unify some existing results in the literature.
